The MusicLink Foundation has been a partner to America's Promise - the Alliance for Youth since 1989. We have currently achieved our commitment of reaching 2005 students by the end of the year 2005, with teachers volunteering over 100,000 hours of instruction, equivalent to $2.2 million in scholarship donation.

 

The American String Teachers Association (ASTA) The American String Teachers Association is committed to advancing string education and performance in the United States and around the world. Its 11,500 members include educators, performers, string industry representatives, students, and string enthusiasts. The Dimick Foundation has provided a grant in the amount of $2,500 "to assist in the wonderful work the foundation is doing."

Eastman Music Company assists in providing guitars, wind, and brass instruments to MusicLink students through donation and discounts.

 

ECS - Electronic Software Systems offers a 10% discount off music software to MusicLink teachers.

 

City of Fairfax Commission on the Arts has provided grants totaling $2,700 for the Northern Virginia MusicLink program.

 

The FJH Music Company offers a complimentary packet of music for new MusicLink teachers as well as a 50% discount for MusicLink students for their Piano Adventures method books.

 

Gibson Guitars has donated 40 electric guitars for use by the MusicLink students.

 

Gibson Guitars has donated guitars to the MusicLink Foundation for auction fundraising.

 

Herb Block Foundation has provided a grant of $2,500 to the MusicLink Foundation. The foundation recognizes educational programs that share their mission to provide educational opportunities to deserving students in need.

 

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has provided grants totaling $156,000 to strengthen the organization professionally, and recognize its function in seeking talented students in need and providing them with long-term musical development. MusicLink serves as a pipeline organization to seek talented students for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Scholarship and Cooke Young Scholars Award.

 

Neil A. Kjos Music Company supplies each new MusicLink teacher with a starter packet of piano music.

 

Each new volunteer keyboard teacher in the MusicLink program receives an introductory packet to Hal Leonard's Student Piano Library with offers of 40% discounts for additional books from the Student Piano Library Series.

 

Manduca Music Publications offers free music from their catalogue to any MusicLink student.

 

The MusicLink Foundation receives nominations from members of MENC across the country for the MusicLink program. MusicLink is linked with schools throughout the country thanks to MENC teachers.

Minimusic offers a 10% discount for their teaching materials.

 

Music Bag Press offers complimentary Just the Facts Theory Workbooks for MusicLink students.

 

MusicTime Inc. extends a 20% discount off retail on all printed music for MusicLink teachers.

 

The MusicLink Foundation enjoys ongoing collaboration with the MTNA state and local affiliates, who support the program through volunteer teaching, waived fees for student activities, and general support. See Links for a list of links.

The National Federation of Music Clubs donated $7,500.00 from its Fund for the Advancement of Musical Arts to the MusicLink Foundation to initiate a "grass roots fund" to assist local MusicLink programs in providing instruments, music, and materials for youth in the MusicLink program.

Shar Products Co., the leading catalog dealer of string instruments and instrumental products offers special discounts to MusicLink teachers and students.

 

Sheet Music Digital offers MusicLink teachers a complimentary one-year platinum membership to their website.

 

Sprenger Lang Foundation provided a contribution of $5,000 to the MusicLink Foundation for support of their MusicLink/Atlas program located in Washington, DC.

 

Steinway & Sons supports dealer efforts in forming partnerships with the MusicLink Foundation to help provide instruments, scholarship lessons, performance opportunities, and other support for local programs.

 

Travelers Foundation provided a grant for $6,500 for instruments and materials for an after school keyboard MusicLink project linking Walker West Music Academy with Maxfield Elementary School in St. Paul.

 

The Verdine White Foundation, created by the bass guitarist of Earth Wind and Fire and his wife, Mashelle is working closely with the MusicLink Foundation to bring ongoing musical training to underprivileged youth across the country.

 

Warner Brothers sends a complimentary "thank you" packet of piano method books and supplementary materials to every new MusicLink teacher.

 

The Weissberg Foundation awarded a grant of $3000 to support MusicLink's Washington DC program at the Atlas Performing Arts Center.

 

Whirligig offers special discounts for MusicLink teachers and students on their educational materials.

 

Willis Music offers 50% discounts on music for MusicLink students.

 

The Yamaha Corporation is partnering with MusicLink in fund raising efforts through their Clavinova festivals. Yamaha also has supplied portable keyboards for use by a number of MusicLink programs.
