November, 2015 - Legacy Partner Spotlight

Bill and Brigid Brakefield have been major contributors to the MusicLink Foundation since 2001, with their initial contribution arriving less than one month after we were established as a 501(c)(3) charity. Bill was taking piano lessons from founder Joanne Haroutounian at the time and their relationship remains strong. She explains, "The Brakefields have always been there for us, in many capacities. In the twentieth anniversary year of the MusicLink program, they provided matching donations up to $10,000 to help us raise $20,000. They have hosted personal playathons sharing music with friends, MusicLink students and teachers, all performing in their lovely music room and enjoying a delicious barbecue as a bonus!

We love Bill's sense of humor and wry wit. About their passion to support the arts, he explains that he and his wife "think about music night and day – apparently we are stuck with it. We support amazing people who are making the world a more fabulous place and arts folks often qualify. We see and/or hear a fair amount of music and theatre. And, despite their struggles, we encourage our three children to take music lessons."
